Polyetheretherketone are high performance plastics, which are obtained through linear linking of ring structures with ether (oxygen bridges) and ketone (CO-group). PEEK-plastics possess high strength and very high dimensional stability and belong to the thermoplastic plastics with the best characteristic profiles. Polyetheretherketones can be sterilised with hot steam and are autoclavable. Therefore, they are often used in the medical technology.
